The Egyptian government announced that the rules for issuing visas will be changed. Now tourists can not get visa on arrival in this country. This means that the travelers to Egypt would have to contact the embassy of this North African country in their homeland. The new rules apply to nationals arriving in Egypt from the United States, Australia, Europe, the Persian Gulf, Latin America and Asia.
The government’s decision to amend Egypt’s granting of visas does not apply to tourists traveling in groups. New rules for obtaining entry documents will take effect next week, but the exact date of their entry into force is not specified.
Earlier it was reported that the Egyptian authorities started thinking about the behavior of foreign citizens on the beaches of the Red Sea. Radical Islamists have a proposal to legislate against alcohol and put a dress code for guests which doesn’t allow wearing bikini even on the beach. Representatives of the local tourist industry have estimated that after the adoption of such measures the country will lose $ 13 billion in annual revenue.
Living in Hurghada and Sharm-el-Sheikh want the violators to be fined 150 euro for wearing bikini. Egyptian women tan in hijabs and swim in clothes. The head of Egypt’s Chamber of travel companies, Hussam Al-Shair is sure that with such conditions the country will rest in splendid isolation. “nobody just will come to us” – he said.
