Siam Ocean World in Bangkok.

Being in a shopping mall Siam Paragon, we visited the local aquarium, located in the underground level of shopping mall. Dima did not go with us, as he had already seen fish in Pattaya at a local aquarium.

Entrance fee is 900 Baht per adult and 700 Baht for children above 80 cm
I not for a second regretted the money, because the aquarium is excellent!

A huge number of tanks with a variety of fish and other sea inhabitants. My child was delighted and ran from one tank to another, shouting – Mom, it’s all about the fish from the movie about Nemo!

One of the premises is a gallery with glass walls and domed ceiling. Directly above us various types of sharks, stingrays and huge sea turtles swam.

There is a room with a full glass wall from the floor up to the ceiling, through which people can observe the life of the inhabitants of tropical reefs, listening to nice music and relaxing at the comfortable sofas.

Also in the aquarium there are differents species of snakes, lizards, amphibians and insects presented.

For an additional fee you can even swim under water with sharks, but I have not dared at an experiment)))

So, it’s really “must seen”!

Bangkok- our reviews.

We left Koh Samui our sweet home :) All good things come to the end :)

While being to Samui I regreted that we have planned to spend four days in Bangkok. And I was right :) It’s too much for the mind, accustomed to a steady life on the island.

Bangkok reminds me a boiling pot with strange guck. It’s hot, stuffy and stinks. Huge skyscrapers coexist with dilapidated shack. On the streets there is dirt, huge cockroaches and rats are running. On the roads there is a continuous stream of cars and motorbikes, do not dry out even at night. Smog over the city is visible to the naked eye.

In general, Elena is crying for Samui, Alex is crying for Nilokaev, I don’t care, I have an ear pain, so I take antibiotics and pain relief medicines and ear drops.

For the future, you just have to remember that you should go to Bangkok at the beginning of the trip. There are great prices and it’s the only thing that somehow justifies this visit. Before you go on a trip to Thailand, you can call in to Bangkok and buy some things, everything here is 50% cheaper.

We were lucky to book Bangkok City Hotel at agoda, the hotel is very good, I’ll write about it later.

But before going do not visit Bangkok :) This is just a killer for your psyche.
When quiet and amazing air of the islands changes to Bangkok pudding of eateris’ odors, standing right on the roadside, and the scent of exhaust gases, you just want to howl and change tickets for an earlier date.

We had also been to Pratunam market, it’s not interesting there. Tomorrow we’ll visit several temples and the Grand Palace and then we’ll come back home. We leave at 3 a.m. See you soon.

P.S. A huge hello to our islanders! It’s hard to part with you, because thanks to you, our life on Koh Samui was so enjoyable. We love you very much and look forward to next meet!

AngTong National Marine Park.

We decided before going to Bangkok to visit the islands, wanted the maximum stock up memories of the warm and clear water of the Gulf of Siam. In addition, at home it is snow and frost, and we soon will test their strength on the skin)

National Marine Park Angtong is an archipelago of 42 islands Gulf of Siam. It is located to the north-west of Koh Samui and covers an area about 100 square kilometers The islands of limestone covered with evergreen forests and surrounded by coral reefs. The sea here is crystal clear and warm.

At 7:30 we were picked up by minibus and drove to the pier where we boarded a boat and sailed to the islands. It took about 1.5 hour. The first item of the program was kayaking along the coast of the island of Mae. Under the direction of the guide, we rowed along the shore, sailing under the rocks and enjoying the beautiful views.
We were given waterproof bags, so all the valuables were safe.

When we landed on the beach, Sasha and I stayed on the shore sunbathing and swimming, and Lena went to the mountain to the view point, which overlooks the green lagoon, salt lake, surrounded by rocks inside the island.

Then on longteyle we returned to the boat, where we waited quite a decent and tasty lunch.
Then we went to the island of Wua Ta Lap. From the boat to the island one could sail by longtail or by kayak. We took kayak and didn’t regret. The places are really beautiful there… Especially we were enthralled by the small secluded beaches surrounded by reefs, they can not be seen until you try to get there.

On the islands, according to the guide, there are no snakes. But there are cicadas, I would like to note a very loud insects. We saw a few monkeys, wild and shy, they did not go down from the trees. We had a lot of snorkelling, there is fish in the sea, but little in comparison with Egypt.

As a result, I can clearly say for sure, this tour is a must-visit, take the tour with kayaking included. We likу it very much.

And here is a little video so you better appreciate the atmosphere of this place :)

Well, now, in fact, the findings :)

I began to think more often of making trip around the world :) On the yacht :)
A lot of people are traveling such a way, mostly elderly Europeans and Americans. Imagine how many secluded corners there are on our globe) How amazing is to watch at night the myriad of stars twinkling in the sky, and fall asleep with the squeaking rocking gear and rolling waves. As a child I was dreaming about the sea, I constantly drew the sea and the ships. I had grown, and somehow this fascination with the artistic attempts came to naught. By the way, my friend and I once nearly bought a yacht, but apparently it was not the time.

It is clear that before realize this dream one should at least earn on this boat, learn to rule, make a test swim in the Black and Mediterranean seas. But you must also seek for something specific, not just to earn enough money …

You say that this is an incredible lot of green presidents, I agree, but that’s my dream …

Where to have good meals in Samui.

We have visited many bars and restaurants, the best cafes where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner are collected in the review.

In Thailand there is a problem with European food, there are little places where one can eat good steak, for instance. The cafes propose Thai menu, fried rice, Pad Thai, Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups. Usually they cook their dishes very good. But sometimes most common food is needed, though we like Thai cuisine very much :)

If you visit Lamai beach at Koh Samui, come to the restaurants listed below.

“At Saan, Burmese”
The top of our list. Both Thai and European cuisine is great here. We visited this cafe most often, when we didn’t want to eat at home or just wanted to walk in the evening. Saan’s husband is a wonderful cooker. Thei interior is poor, but still the food is great here.
I recommend: Tom Yum, Tom Kha, Cheesburger with french fries, Fried Prawns with vegetables and cashew nuts.

It is situated at Lamai Beach road beside the bridge, if to go from the ring road.

“Irish Pub Shamrock”
Here they cook excellent chicken a-la Kiev. Yes, I was shocked))) And only here they serve apple cider Magners, very tasty drink, and of course the Guinnes!) Also Lena recommends to try the chicken steak and shepherd’s meat pie.
It is situated at Lamai Beach road 50m from McDonald’s, on the right side of the street.

“Pizzeria Napoli”
In this pizzeria we ate good cream pizza. I had never eaten anything like this.
It is situated at the right side of Lamai Beach road infront of “69 Slam” shop.

“The Outback”
Here omlettes are great, they just melt in the mouth. I ate beefburger, the cookers were not afraid to join in the stuffing fresh pineapple and beetroot, until tried, I could not believe it would be so delicious.
And more vivid impression pork chop with french fries and vegetables left, very tasty!

It is situated at the left side of Lamai beach road if to go to Hin Ta Hin Yai.

“Ta’s Cafe”
This cafe is situated not far from our house, near Vanda House hotel. Miss Ta cooks great Pad Thai and fried rice. Wi-Fi is free there. The cafe is very nice and stylish.

Bon appetit :)

Everyday life in Samui-3.

We are leaving soon :) Personally, I have missed my homeland, increasingly want to go home, I would like to see parents and friends, too. My son from time to time asks when he will go for a walk with his grandmother)) But my wife does not want to come back home :) She loves to live here.

In Our everyday life in Samui and Everyday life in Samui-2 one can read how it have been when we just have arrived to Samui.

We try to go to the beach more often sunbathing and swimming. But when there are waves and the water is cloudy, we go to the swimming pool at the hotel located near the sea. Pool is excellent, with jacuzzi, etc.

Recently, at night it was the attack of some flying insects, reminded Stephen King novel “The Dark Half” ))) But our geckos were happy, blissfully overeat.

The sounds are only the swish of wings

The life is well underway, every day is like the previous one, and I such a stability makes me feel oppressed. Again, I want something new. Soon we go to Bangkok :) And then go home.

Specially for Max, the most cute massage girl, to my taste, of course :)

Why is she sad? I don't know))))))

Karaoke in Thailand.

I’m full of emotions :)

We were searching for karaoke in Samui for a long time. Lena wanted to sing. But we couldn’t find anything. But today we at last found this.
The whole evening my beloved wife was shining and wallowing in glory. The staff called the owner of this bar and he came with flowers. It was a sensation. :)
The local musician took his guitar and went away.
We were waiting for the job offer :)
I enjoyed the evening and made only several videos. :)

Grigoriy Leps- Labyrinth.

Je t’aime – Lara Fabian

The bar itself is mostly for Thai people. It is situated not far from Lamai Fresh Food market if to go to the beach the first turn left. It’s heard in the evening. The musical equipment is good, as well as prices, to sing is for free.

Real estate in Thailand.

Given the fact that people are often interested in prices to purchase houses in Thailand, I decided to make this post.
So, the price is quite adequate. Especially if we compare with our prices :)

There are many houses and land for sale, of course this is not the first line of the sea, but one do not have to go far in the jungle :) A lot of ads for the business premises, usually on the second floor there are living rooms.

Property prices in Thailand are quite different, depending on the part of the country.
For example, in Phuket everything is very expensive, a house with a swimming pool will cost from 5 million baht ($ 170,000). And then, one must search well, we are talking about Kata Beach.
In Pattaya, prices are much lower, probably offers more than enough where a decent house will cost from 3 million baht ($ 100,000).
Koh Samui offers less, but the prices are similar to Pattaya. But do not forget that in Pattaya the sea is very bad.
Just remember, the houses here are selling fully ready for occupancy, do not need repairs, you can simply select the location, design, furniture and settle :)

Real estate in Thailand

I'm talking about the house like this

Just a large number of small rooms are sold, you will not find them on the websites, people just hang a sign with a telephone number and price. Recently, by the way, the premise was sold not far from our house, the European have bought it and made a small bar there. The price was 120,000 baht ($ 4,000).

Real estate in Thailnad

Now he's using it as a bar, has made minimum repairs, put tables, the square is about 20-25 sq.m.

Enough people give ads in local newspapers, I came across a very decent options. For example for 750,000 baht ($ 25,000) a large bar on the main street with living rooms above it is sold. Buy, live and work:)

Real estate in Thailand

It's like this, usually the owner lives on the second floor

By the way, here they build quickly, I do not know why, probably due to the fact that the heat insulation is not necessary, or maybe just got a good superintendent. But the apartment building, on the way to kindergarten, is already finished. And when we arrived, they were digging the foundation.

There is one BUT ;)

The Kingdom of Thailand Legislation allows foreign nationals become owners of property, but without the right to land ownership. In Thailand formally the residents can not own the land.

Thai people understand that Europeans would buy everything for such nice prices. :)
People invent something, find different variants :) But it’s not legal, one must realize that can lose both money and property.)

To buy or not to buy everyone decides for himself :) But you must admit, the offers are tempting :)

Koh Phangan. Malibu Beach.

The next morning we woke up at 9:00 with the excellent state of health, despite all the buckets, which we drank yesterday, we wanted to find out where on that island paradise a real beach paradise is.

We decided to go north of the island in the area Chaloklum on the beach Malibu. There were too much rave reviews about this place)

They drove for a long time, the roads at Phangan are horrible, just some kind of roller coaster, cover slipped down to the cliffs here and there, in general, it was not much fun. But when we walked along the path through the trees and saw the Malibu, we just could not believeв the eyes! The crystal clear sea, white, soft sand like flour, fanciful trees … The beach, which we have not ever seen!

It’s just heaven on earth :)

In a small bar on the beach Bob Marley softly sings about Everything’s gonna be all right … And you know, old Bobby was right, everything is great!

We had a lot of time, the taxi driver had promised to come back for us at 4 p.m., to take us to the pier. We settled down in the shade of the trees, drinking beer, swimming, sunbathing and simply went mad. That was real Sanuk amd Sabai)))

Feeling unreal happiness, peace and paradise of pleasure, here’s what we experienced on the beach Malibu.
At 5-30, we pushed off from the island, and I threw a coin into the water to come back there again …

Phangan, I will not tell you “Goodbye”, I say “La kon. Ch’an rak khun.”

Koh Phangan- the review of one heart in love.

We have little time rest to enjoy our nice life at Koh Samui (don’t want to come back home). So we decided to visit Koh Phangan nearby on weekend. It’s situated 15 km north from Samui. We heard that it’s not a place for having rest with childrenm so we left Alex with our friends. And also it was my birthday, so we decided to celebrate it at Phangan.

It’s very easy to get to Koh Phangan. There lots of piers at Samui, from which the boats, seatrans and catmarans go to Phangan. We bought tickets at the seatran and at 6-30 a.m. the bus picked us to get to Bophut pier. The way took about 40 minutes and at last we greeted Phangan.

We’ve decided to stay at Haad Rin beach because here are the most number of discos, bars and parties. We booked Drop In Club hotel, but it appeared awful. But still we were not upset, ’cause we came not to spend time in the room but to party and have fun.

We left our things in the room and went for a walk. There were not many people on the streets, many shops and bars were closed that time, because there most people live nightlife.

At pier we caught the boatman and asked to take us to some beautiful beaches. He showed a map and several beaches to choose from. We decided to go to Haad Young, that on the eastern coast Phangan. Floated for about 30 minutes, during which time a couple of times were ready to say goodbye to life, the boat nearly collapsed, but all ended well and we landed on the shore.

Very nice beach picturesque with a restaurant on the beach. Though the waves were, but the water was clean. We sat on the beds, bought a beer and started in every way to relax and make plans for the evening. Somewhere from the depths of the beach the sound of music was heard, so jauntily, dance, in broad daylight (12 hours it was). By passing girl said that there was after-party, people could not stop hanging out))) Just what we need – we go there :)

In the depths of the beach there are two bars, a dance floor between them and at noon in the heat a lot of people out there dancing, drinking and otherwise come off. And from the look of some friends, really party from yesterday!))) It was so cool that we too could not resist and dance for an hour. Music great, either house, whether trance, whether drum & bass, winds at the time!

At 4:00 we returned to Haad Rin, slept for a couple of hours , we left at 6 am to Koh Samui and we had all night before us))) came for dinner at the cafe and went to wander along the beach. Usually the parties began not earlier than 9.10 pm, so we just went to the shops, were watching how people made tattoos and just watching people. We have come to Fubar- a great place where you can lie on the soft cushions and listen to music.

Time passed, and we did not find any serious partying. In one of the streets we were approached by a taxi driver and asked us to get us on the Shiva Moon Party, like, cool party. Well, let it be Shiva Moon, Well, we wanted to party. We drove, drove, and then the taxi turned off the main road and took us somewhere in the jungle. Darkness, only torches lit along the road, pointing the way to the Shiva Moon. We arrived, paid the entrance fee and went to the sound. The picture, which we opened, would be an excellent backdrop to some apocalyptic movie about aliens. Jungle of palm trees, people dancing around the bars, all decorated with fluorescent scenery, portraits of Shiva and Ganesh, illuminated banana palm trees and unreal music!

We took for bucket, a bucket with ice, where they add alcohol, energy drink, and soda to choose from, and came on! Danced so much that really drived us crazy) The atmosphere is just unreal!
Three hours, we hang out there, and then decided to change the situation. Caught a taxi driver and told to drive to Ananatha. Also a great place, nice atmosphere, lounge area and have soft grassy lawns), but too many people. Normally in the crowd it is unreal to move. We drank a cocktail and went back to Haad Rin.
The whole beach turned into one big party! We bought more buckets and went dancing here and there.)))

About 3 a/m/ we went home. I was singing “I’m feeling good”very loudly)))

In the room we just fell on the bed and passed out. And the next day we discovered Phangan with a completely different side) But this is a subject of the next post)

Motorbikes in Thailand

When we arrived to Thailand, I even had no thought to rent a bike. Lena was categorically against it, she had once had the experience of riding on this two-wheeled vehicle, and this experience was not good), she was also frightened even with the idea that we would drive all together with Alex :)

I didn’t used to ride motorcycles, the experience, both positive and negative, was absent. A couple of times I was driven, it’s memorable whistle of the wind in my ears and ears wet with tears :)

The motorcycle does not scare me, it is the same principle as on the bicycle. In the end, all this time we traveled on foot, by taxi or songtaeo. And to be honest I do not regret, I have not walked so much for a long time :)

People are usually shocked with a lot of motorbikes, which can be rented. Many people save on the hotel, and rent a bike to go to the beach.

The price of the motorbike is 150-200 baht per day ($ 5-7)
Per month it is 3000-4000 baht ($ 100-130)

By the way, only on our small Koh Samui I saw three Harleys salon, whether they rent, I do not know, but you can buy exactly.

Here motorbike is ideally suited for outsized cargo :) I’ve seen carrying furniture, refrigerators, barbecues, painting, bird cages, flowers pots, the glass sheets. In short, everything.

Besides, people, well, can not part with their pets, dogs ride on the handlebars, on the owners’ knees, in a basket at the front and rear, even just on the seat (I was in shock that it didn’t fall down).

There are still some problems with sobriety, for some reason vacationers consider it their duty to drink liter of whiskey and then ride the bike for more. Therefore, walking through the streets there is large number of Farang in bandages and plaster, some are riding in wheelchairs. Although to crash with the bike quite a trifling matter, and sober, then the motion of dense, a lot of inexperienced drivers, as well as Thais, who consider themselves a mega aces driving. The police caught the extent of forces and capabilities, especially trying to catch the idiots without a helmet, just check the driving license.

So, the bike is certainly cheap and convenient, but quite dangerous. Remember, insurance does not cover treatment for cases of motorcycle (bike accident)

Good roads, watch a selection of photos of motorbikes I encountered in Thailand.
